Grissini
Grissini are originally from Piedmont. Real food, as is told by its history.
Grissini
The bread-stick was invented in 1679 at the court of the Savoy, in Turin, to feed a small prince who was in poor health..
Knotty and imperfect because handmade: this is its oldest shape. Only later, on the kitchen tables of Italians, did it make its stage entrance as a stretched and well-shaped breadstick, using dough that is elongated rather than rolled.
Grissini
Over the years, once it left the palace, the grissini became an indispensable and very popular delicacy that can be eaten during any time of the day.
Bakers’ imagination have made it even more special. Today, there are many varieties: starting with whole-wheat, kamut, sesame dough, right up to the use of fennel, olives, nuts, tomatoes and chili peppers.
